About Chang
Chang Liu Stavros, seen in concerts at the Edward M. Pickman Concert Hall, Boston Public Library, Harvard Dunster House Library, Boston University, Pitman Recital Hall, the McKnight Center and other concert venues worldwide, started her piano studies in Dalian, China at the Shenyang Conservatory. There she was under the tutelage of Mr. Xiaoqiang Wang, Ms. Rosemary Platt and Mr. Dahao Guo for six years. After graduating in 2012, she left China to pursue a Bachelors of Music at the Longy School of Music of Bard College as the Irene Epstein Rosenthal Memorial Scholar in Boston under Mrs. Rieko Aizawa’s studio. While still undergraduate, she was selected multiple times as an Honors Competition winner allowing her to represent the school in annual concerts. With her playing being seen by wider audiences, she was invited to be a pianist with the Boston Chinese Musician Association and performed with the group in their 2013-2014 season.
In 2016, Chang continued her studies with Mrs. Aizawa for her Masters of Music in Piano Performance at Longy. Meanwhile, she was a teaching assistant of Mrs. Aizawa’s studio in 2016-2017. After graduating with her Masters, she pursued her Graduate Performance diploma in collaborative piano at Longy as the Bakalar scholar. Studying under Mr. Wayman Chin’s studio, she participated in school wide collaborations with the wind, strings, and vocal departments as well as focusing on small chamber group repertoire. She then continued her studies at John J. Cali School of Music at Montclair State University in Dr. David Witten’s studio in 2020 and graduated with an International Artist Diploma in May, 2021.

Chang accompanied Mr. Robert Honeysucker’s voice studio at the Longy School of Music of Bard College from 2016 until he passed away. She was also a former piano faculty at GIPAC Music in Boston from 2018 to 2020. After moving to Norman, Oklahoma in June 2021, she started her own piano studio, Chang Music Studio, for teaching private students and accompanying professional musicians for concerts and competitions at the University at Oklahoma.
Chang has been teaching classical piano for many years and is dedicated to spreading her love for music to students of all ages and experience. Her goal is to encourage those who appreciate and want to learn more about music by guilding with insight, joy and thoughtfulness.
Chang is currently accepting students at her home studio in Norman.
